Stratford Fair Ground
The Stratford Fair Grounds, located only 10 minutes from the Stratford Festival Inn, is a host to a variety of great events including Bingo Country, the CJCS Spring Home Show, our Stratford Fall Fair and the annual Rotary Minor Hockey tournament. One of the largest attractions at the Fair Grounds is our Farmers Market. It is one of the largest Markets in Ontario, established in 1855, and open every Saturday from 7:00am to noon.
The Avon River
Both the city and the river were named when it was first settled in 1832, after Stratford-upon-Avon, England, of Shakespearean fame. The beautiful River is located beside the Stratford Festival theatre, only a short 5 minute drive from the hotel. Take in all the beauty of the riverside with a stroll down the paved walk way, relax on one of the many riverside benches while enjoying the Swans and ducks. Be sure to visit the Tom Patterson island while you are there, named after the founder of the Stratford Festival.
The Stratford Festival Theatre
The Stratford Festival has been an annual event since 1953. This world-famous drama festival lasts more than six months each year and draws theatrical talent from across the country. It features productions of the plays of William Shakespeare and other playwrights, preformed in three main theatres: the Festival Theatre, the Avon Theatre, and the Tom Patterson Theatre.
St. Jacobs Country Farmers' Market and Flea Market
Mennonite shopping, meats and cheeses, and homemade German creations just to name a few features in this open air market with over 600 stalls. Only 40 minutes from the Stratford Festival Inn, this famous market draws tourists and local's alike. Open Thursday and Saturday, year round, from 7:00am to 3:30 pm cap the perfect weekend with a touch of the extraordinary.
Art in the Park
Minutes from the Stratford Festival Inn, Stratford's free outdoor gallery is a venue for artisans to display and sell of their work, creations, and various works of art. Open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, June to September 28.
Gallery Stratford
A short 10 minutes from the Stratford Festival Inn, there are twelve exhibits that are presented annually in this prominent public art gallery. The Gallery Shop is available for all your craft purchases, large selection of jewelry, glass and fashion. Open year round.
